After the US carrier T-mobile has announced that it would be offering free phone calls from the United States to the areas in the Caribbean affected by the powerful Hurricane Matthew, today Verizon has said that it too, will began providing its customers with free calling to Haiti. “Verizon is offering free wireless and wireline calling from the United States to Haiti to connect with family and friends,” the mobile service provider said in a statement on Tuesday.

From Tuesday, October 4, till Friday, October 7 Verizon home wireline telephone customers will incur no charges on calls made to Haiti from their U.S. landlines. Wireless customers will also see no charges for either texts or international long distance calls from the United States to Haiti.
