Today, the Provisional Electoral Council of Haiti is expected to publish the definitive results of the presidential election held in the country last November 20th.

The publication of the final results were initially due for December 28, but was reported for today, January 3rd, following a court order that demanded the verification of 12% of the ballots at random, after a successful challenge to the results initiated by the second, third and fourth place finishers in the presidential election.

The court ordered verification has been completed and a verdict is expected anytime today.

According to preliminary data released by the CEP, the winner of the Presidential election is Jovenel Moise of the PHTK party, who received 55.67% of the votes in the first round.
