Haiti celebrate their victory

Haiti made history on Sunday, January 28, earning for the first time a place in the big court of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. The Haitians defeated the Canadian team 1-0 in the match for third place at the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Women's Championship, which was played in the Couva side in Trinidad and Tobago.

Despite winning the Caribbean 4: 0 in the group stage, the Canadians have fallen prey to the opportunism of Sheryl Jeudy, who made the difference in the first half against Canada as well as the tactical Haitian discipline and guardian Kerly Theus in a big day.

Haiti will represent CONCACAF in France 2018 next August with Mexico and the United States.

Haiti is the first Caribbean country to ever qualify for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
