The preliminary results of the Haitian presidential election, published minutes ago by Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council, showed that Jovenel Moise has won the presidency with 55.67% of votes, exceeding the threshold of 50%+1 necessary for a second round.
While the results of last Sunday's elections are preliminary, Jovenel Moise won with such a large margin that it would be very hard for runner-up Jude Celestin with 19.52% to challenge the results, as he has hinted. Same for third place Moise Jean Charles who received 11.04% of the votes as well as Maryse Narcisse of Fanmi Lavalas who came in 4th position.
