Breaking News: Haitian Senator arrested in Dominican Republic, for killing a Haitian citizen while speeding

Haitian Senator, Gracia Delva, was detained yesterday in the Dominican Republic, for killing a Haitian citizen after hitting him with his car while speeding.

The Senator was briefly held in custody of the police, before the Haitian Embassy in the Dominican Republic could intervene and assert his diplomatic immunity for him to be released.

The Senator was the one behind the wheel when he hit the haitian national on the Azua San Juan highway, killing him instantly.


The identity of the victim is not yet confirmed, but his lifeless body was transported to the morgue of the National Institute of Forensic Science.

It has also not yet been confirmed if the Senator was in an official trip in the neighboring country.
