Hurt un Chilien soldats de la paix de capitaine en Haïti

A member of the Chilean troops participating in the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) was injured and remains hospitalized after being hit by a projectile, said Friday the Ministry of Defence in this country.

The incident occurred early 2016 in Port-au-Prince, when the captain of Health Wanner Max Espinoza, medical helicopters of the Air Force of Chile in Haiti was wounded by a bullet in the back, which apparently came from the outside of the base, from unknown individual, "the letter said.

"Captain Wanner was transferred to the Argentine hospital for first aid, where he was diagnosed stable without vital risk," the statement said. The officer was transferred to a health center in Santo Domingo after receiving first aid and remove the projectile, according to the Chilean authorities.

Chile is part of MINUSTAH since its inception in 2004. In April of last year the death of a Chilean soldier as part of a demonstration in Haiti had inflamed criticism of Chile's participation in the mission of the UN.

Chile has about 500 agents in the force in addition to members of other Latin American countries, including Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.
