The OAS also oversaw the first round of the October 2015 presidential election whose results would be later thrown out, after numerous fraud allegations and violence that erupted. The Chief of the OAS mission also call on the Haitian population to go en masse to the polls and make their voices heard, while cautioning the candidates to "act responsibly" to allow the Haitian people to choose its democratic leader.
