The american envoy in Haiti, Robin Dialo, whom was summoned by Haitian officials to explain the derogatory remarks the President of the United States, Donald Trump made about Haiti, when he referred to it as a “shit hole “ during a meeting in the Oval Office last Thursday; on Monday twitted a quote of Martin Luther King Jr, along a picture of her giving a kiss on the cheek to an African American colleague.
“ I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Martin Luther King Jr” the diplomat wrote.
Monday was also Martin Luther King Jr day, a National holiday in the United States celebrating the legacy of this African american’s human rights advocacies. Thousands of Haitians and African Americans used that holiday to protest the remarks of the American President, reminding people that the struggles Martin Luther King fought for racial, social and economic justice were still persisting.
