Luxurious hotel Decameron took over Haiti's Club Indigo

"Indigo Royal Decameron Beach Resort & Spa" is the new name on which the current indigo Club will be managed. This decision was made following an agreement between a delegation of the Decameron chain, which was in Haiti last week, and management of Club Indigo.

The Delegation of the prestigious hotel group was visiting Haiti to finalize the terms of an agreement with the Minister of Tourism, Stephanie Balmir-Villedroin. The delegation was led by the CEO, Lucio Garcia.

Haiti showed significant tourism growth in 2014

Haiti’s strong tourism growth continued in 2014, according to new data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

The country, which has been developing a long-dormant sector in recent years, received a total of 465,174 stayover visitors last year, according to the CTO.

That represented a 10.8 percent improvement over the previous year.

Cotes de Fer Resort Development

The Haitian Government is seeking partners to build a 16 miles stretch beach-front resort destination in Cotes de Fer, a semi island off Haiti's southern coast. The Haitian Ministry of Tourism estimates that the construction of this mega resort will cost $350 million in private and public investments to develop the area, including infrastructures such as utilities, a sewer system and roads.
